The Swansea Bay Group of Advanced Motorists (SBGAM) was formed in 1975, and is affiliated to the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM), now called IAM RoadSmart.

SBGAM is one of over 200 UK-wide Groups, and one of just a handful of Welsh Groups, whose aims are to promote the improvement of driving, confidence and the advancement of road safety.

Like all other Groups, SBGAM officers and observers are entirely volunteers, preparing candidates for the IAM RoadSmart Advanced Driving Test. As a Group, we also have an active membership who enjoy safe driving, and partake in a number of social activities throughout the year.

As with most Groups in the UK, we only cater for car drivers. If you are interested in passing your Advanced Driving Test with a motorcycle, LGV, PCV, minibus or for the Caravan Towing Test, please contact IAM RoadSmart directly for a Group near you. Alternatively, contact us and we will try to help you find a local Group.
