The
Swansea Bay Group of Advanced Motorists (SBGAM) was formed in 1975,
and is affiliated to the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM).
SBGAM
are one of over 200 UK-wide Groups, and one of just a handful of
Welsh Groups, whose aims are to promote the improvement of driving
and the advancement of road safety.
Like
all other Groups, SBGAM are entirely voluntary, preparing candidates
for the IAM's Advanced Driving Test. As a Group, we also have an
active membership who enjoy safe driving, and partake in a number
of social activities throughout the year.
As
well as an active social calendar, we have monthly meetings in the
Trallwn Community Centre in Swansea on the last Thursday of (almost)
every month. The meetings usually last for about 2 hours, and as
well as discussing activities of the Group, we often have guest
speakers. A full diary of events and forthcoming speakers can be
found on our Events page.
As
with most Groups in the UK, we only cater for car drivers. If you
are interested in passing your Advanced Driving Test with a motorcycle,
LGV, PCV, minibus or for the Caravan Towing Test, please contact
the IAM directly
for a Group near you. Alternatively, contact
us and we will try to help you find a local Group.
